Celebrating 30 Years of Building in D.C.

30th Anniversary Gala

Tuesday, November 5, 2019 | 6PM-9PM | Union Station | 50 Massachusetts Ave NE

On November 5, Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. celebrated 30 years of building in the District. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, our 30th Anniversary campaign raised over $1,400,000!

The evening began with Emmy Award-winning journalist Andrea Roane, who led us through a spirited evening program highlighting all we have achieved over these last 30 years and our vision for the future.

We also shared our 30th anniversary video, a reflection on our impact serving local families and the importance of preserving access to affordable housing here in the nation’s capital. Homeowner Andrea Morgan then took the stage to share the story of her path to homeownership, and received a well-deserved standing ovation.

Our achievements are in large part due to the commitment and generosity of our wide community of supporters, five of whom we were proud to honor during the evening: The Honorable Rob Portman, United States Senator of Ohio, The Honorable Muriel Bowser, Mayor of the District of Columbia, James Schenck, President & CEO, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Freddie Mac accepted by Sarah Edmonds, Project Management Senior, and GEICO, accepted by Rynthia Rost, Vice President of Public Affairs. With their dedication, this group has enabled us to consistently provide safe, decent, and affordable homes to a continually growing number of families in the District.

The evening concluded with a spectacular send-off from Justin Trawick and The Common Good. We closed the night in high spirits and unbelievable gratitude for the show of immense support, and shared our 30-year impact report with everyone as they headed home.

We are so grateful to have shared this special evening with all of our closest friends – our incredible community of homeowners, volunteers, and partners – in celebration of this milestone. Thank you to everyone who join us, and we hope to see you at Women Build 2020!
